MEET ROSE DOWNMAN
Rosemary known as Rose has had a long career with Queensland Health. She has over 35 yrs of management experience and she has also held management positions in the hospitality sector. During the 35 yrs she held positions of Food Service Manager at Princess Alexandra Hospital managing over 150 staff. She then moved to Ipswich Hospital and was responsible for Food Service, wards personnel and security. This lead to time spent in Queensland Health Corporate Office where she was part of a team seconded to create and implement food safety policies and guidelines for use throughout Queensland.
On moving to Tin Can Bay Rose operated a successful café providing affordable food and beverages to patrons. Rose has also turned her hand to aged care in the local area helping residents live productive lives in their homes. Recent time has been spent at Wide Bay Training Area ensuring that our military have a hygiene environment. Rose and Paul Downman have 8 units on Norfolk Island, to which she handles all the bookings for the units remotely from their home in Tin Can Bay. The management of a property in a remote location takes time management as well as communication skills as negotiating with trades who are on the island can be very challenging.
Rose is proudly one of the business owners of Century 21 At The Bay, and works within the business as the Principal.
Rose has a strong love for family and friends, while also enjoying travelling and discovering new places. Rose enjoys gardening and spending time creating something new from something discarded she can often be found sanding back an old cupboard, or a table to give it new life and these are usually gifted to someone in need. Rose gets pleasure from seeing others succeed.
